Well done! I’ve been searching for a ‘standard theme’ and I think this is it!
Here’s a thought for an enhancement. Under ‘Font and Color Options’, allow a separate font, size and color for the site description and then allow the title and description to be overlaid on the header with X & Y offsets. I think positioning interesting typography over simple headers makes a wide range of attractive designs accessible to the amateur.
How do I remove the blank space above my header image up top. I can see my background image goes all the way to the top of the page, but the header is down about 30px. Is there any way to remoive this space? I’ve searched EVERYWHERE!!! Thanks in advance if anyone can help!
I have noticed that on a posts page that the text for the post title starts farther down the page than on the home page. I know this is just a small quirk, but to keep it clean, I would think the text should line up in the same place on all pages. See my newly setup site that uses this child theme at http://www.racquetballinfo.com to see what I mean.

@roberto looks like a conflict with your social sharing plugin and recent related posts. You can disable the related posts in NomNom Options, and use a plugin such as nRelate instead if you like.

Lawrence you can use #access a {font-weight: bold;} Add it to the custom CSS area in NomNom Options.
