Weaver Custom Page Template

I’ve created a custom page Template to use for 2010 Weaver. It’s nothing amazing, I just changed a few tags in page.php and added an example style to show how to use it.
Just extract the zip, read the included read me file, upload the weaver-custom-page.php to your 2010-weaver folder and set your page template to use it.
You can download it from the downloads link at the top.

UPDATE: Twenty Ten Weaver now includes it’s own page templates. This should still work, but probably isn’t needed. It will still work fine for use with Twenty ten or a child theme though.

Thank you so much once again, for providing everyone a custom page template that we can design to fit our needs. I’m very new to php and css so I’m learning it as I discover problems along the way. I usually encounter a problem and then search google for the answers. Thank you so much for your files and helpful template.

I just installed your custom page on my site and it is GREAT! I can see my products now! This is what I wanted, a white background so that my shop and calender would be visible to people visiting my site. I just have to tweek some code and it will be what I need, THANK YOU! I have to keep asking you for advice on how to do things but if you could suggest a really go event/calender that works well with weaver 2010 I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks

I’ve never used any events calendar plugins before, but here’s a fairly new list http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/wordpress/best-calendar-plugins-wordpress/ number 11 looks pretty good.

    Hi Zeaks,

First let me say that your custom page is what my site needed, thank you once again for creating it.

I do have a question for you… I have a blog, which also uses the 2010 weaver template. It functions correctly and I really like it but it is located on its own webpage separate from my website. I would like to combine the 2 so that visitors to my website will be able to access the blog from within bellaorganics.net and not have to go to bellaorganics.net/Blog to read it. I hope I’m making sense.

Once the blog has been incorporated within my website I will need tabs within the blog so visitors can still access all the features of my blog ie. video, replies and so and so. Similar to the ones on the main header bar but within the blog page itself.

Thank you once again for all of you help

Well, I’d make a copy your main site so you can test this out before actually doing it. If both sites are using the same theme, and you basically want the content from /blog to appear on your main site, wordpress has an option for this.

There’s an export/import option in admin/tools You can export all your posts/pages/categories etc and import them into your main site, then just remove the /blog and use the main one instead.

You would need to put the plugins you used in /blog into the main site as well. As I said, make a copy of your main site for example /test, then export all content from /blog and import it to /test, make a backup of your database before implementing this into your live site.

Thank you for replying to my question so quickly, I will try this tonight and let you know how it turned out.

It worked! I just followed the on screen directions, installed the plugin to export files and it was really easy, thank you.

I have another question for you, if you don’t mind?

I researched this one fairly extensively and only ended up right back at the beginning of my quandary…I would like the ability to have my blog translated into multi-languages because I’m receiving visitors from around the world and I would like to create a main page where they can chose their language, click on it, enter my website, and have it translated into their language…is this possible with weaver?

Can I have a page before you reach the main blog home page where visitors to my site will have the ability to choose their language and proceed to my website with their language choice?

  11. Zeaks says:

I’m not sure about this either, but after a quick search I found a plugin that allows the user to select what language, then the site is translated into that language through google. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-ajax-translation/

Another easy way to allow for simple translation, is just put a link to your page through google translate, then the user can choose whatever language they want from the top.
    Here’s an example http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=af&u=http%3A%2F%2Fzeaks.org

    http://translate.google.com is the main site.

  12. BellaMary says:

Thank you once again! The plugin in is perfect. I searched wordpress.org and I was dreading installing several different wordpress language packs and the thought of writing code was not very pretty :) Thank you once again for all of your help.

I wanted to let you know that I thanked you in my blog post tonight and even placed a link to your site so visitors can come and discover your site as well.

Thanks for the comment on your site, I’m glad I could help.
